It has been a long summer. In a strange way staying as busy as we’ve stayed has made it even longer. Every week has been an adventure, which means I’ve been neglecting my poor blog as well as a few other things. I have craft projects just sitting woefully neglected while I have been outside running around. Weekend hikes and street market visits have been reminding me why I like fresh air. That means that my WoW subscription went from active to inactive without me really even noticing. I’ve traded in carrying my computer with me everywhere to carrying my CamelBak and a Moleskine or four. It’s been nice, refreshing. However, I know it won’t last. Pretty soon it will get bitter cold and I’ll be back to gaming and couch sitting.

Speaking of Moleskines, mine are getting a lot of use. They mostly contain bad poetry, but there is one that is an idea book for a new story I’m working on and another that is filling up with storyboards for a future comic.

Even writing has been taking a bit of a back seat. Fun writing at least. I took my first official job doing some copy writing for a friend/designer. It was enjoyable. More enjoyable than I expected actually.

It is a little strange to think about fall. This time next year, I’ll be sending Jenna off to school. I can tell you that she wishes that she didn’t have to wait another whole year. I have promised her this year will be fun though. I’m going to suck it up and take her to a football game or two very soon to (/sigh) watch the cheerleaders.

Cole is now three and obsessed with Spiderman. I wish he had been a little more discerning in his superhero tastes, but what can you do? Yesterday he was playing Spiderman the pirate dinosaur. You may think I’m kidding, but he was roaring pirate phrases, stomping, and shooting webs all at the same time. He’s crazy.

This week is vacation week. Soon I will be sitting somewhere not at home and hopefully that means more time for blogging and other writerly pursuits. I’ll let you know how it goes!
