april is a time for awesome…

Lately my life has been consumed by busy. The busy is the primary reason why there have been very few blogs on this here site of mine. I’ve had plays to attend, Easter to celebrate, dress fittings to go to, a wedding to help out with, a bridal shower to co-plan, and a rather fun (yet kind of uncomfortable) bachelorette party to make it through.

April is gone now. *POOF*

Here is the thing about April though, April is special even when it is too busy to breathe. Why? Because I get older in April! I suppose it is true that I technically get older every time another second passes by, but I only celebrate aging once a year.

Let me tell you something about me, I truly find joy in opening presents. I don’t even really care what the present is. I don’t mean to sound materialistic with this, that isn’t the case. It is just something that makes me feel thought of and loved as all get out. (I think it is partially because I’m not big on touch and hugs.) I do know that a huge part of it is that I really love how well presents show who people think I am and what I like. It’s fun!

This is a card from my mom and dad. Perfect right? It is exactly me…

My dad also picked out a watch for me. He remembered that while he was sick I stole his for a bit. I really liked the big face and that it wasn’t delicate and girly. I told my mom that I thought I could wear a watch like that. Anyhow, my dad told me I couldn’t have his for a very long time, but that he had picked out one for me instead. I love it. I’ll admit, I may have a new watch obsession. I’ve never been big on jewelry, but I think I could be happy with owning a large collection of big faced watches.

Hmm… seeing a trend here? I love cake and people know it! My sister and her fiance bought me an entire gift bag full of Warm Delights! Cake in ten seconds anytime I want? Yes please!

Dice and a figure to represent me on the D&D board. Cool, eh? I’ve said that I only want to own girly dice to keep mine separate from the boys’ dice and therefore unstollen. Pink and black fit that bill pretty well I’d say.

A while back Kevin asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told him I wanted a surprise! He did such a great job at Christmas getting me a book that I totally loved but never would have thought to buy for myself, that I wanted to see what he would come up with this time. Well, he told me he found the perfect gift on e-bay and that he was bidding on it. That gave me zero clues as to what it could be, which was EVEN MORE FUN! I knew I was getting something awesome, and that it could quite literally be anything. Want to know what it was? It’s pretty darn awesome…

Everyone, I’d like you to meet Virginia. She’s named after one of my very favorite writers, Virginia Woolf. She needs a little love to be completely functional, but I’m looking forward to fixing her up and getting her back in working order!

I had a great birthday this year. After a day of playing and having fun, I spent the evening playing WoW with some really great friends. I could not have asked for a better day.

  1. Krissy,
I love that your Dad found the “perfect” watch for you..how special! And the card…it could easily have been mine:) I think I also could have an obesession with large faced watches…so fun all the to-do with weddings…a thought on the bachlorette party, perhaps spa/nails & toes. Don’t know if you are the one planning it and/or what part is uncomfortable…blessings!
